"Merry Christmas."

--With all the disadvantages and drawbacks of the times, Christmas day witnessed many pleasant reunions and family gatherings, and many hearts were made glad by the kindly offerings of the season. The weather was delightful, and old and young found the means of rational enjoyment, except those whose memories rankle with rooted sorrow implanted by the new blood- thirsty policy of the Godless politicians of the North.
