Hon. Wm. Ballard Preston.

--We were gratified yesterday, says the Whig, of the 10th inst., by the receipt of a letter, dated Christiansburg, 7th inst., bringing information of the convalescence of Hon. Wm. Ballard Preston. The writer says:

‘ "Mr. Preston has had a severe and dangerous attack of erysipelas. I am happy to be able to state that his condition is generally improved. He is now considered out of danger and in a fair way for a rapid recovery. He will be able to resume his duties in Congress in the course of a few weeks."
