--The Southerner publishes the statistics of the town of Tarboro,' Edgecombe county. The population of the town and immediate vicinity is given at about 1,000. It has a steam grist and saw-mill, and representatives of all the usual handicrafts; a waterproof cloth manufactory; an oil-cloth manufactory; a Confederate cap manufactory; a cotton-seed oil mill; and, strange to relate, it has one of those rare institutions, a whiskey mill!
