Gen. McIntosh, who was Eileen at the late battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas is generally supposed to be Chillite McIntosh, a half-breed Creek Indian, and a Baptist minister. This is a mistake, as a friend informs us. Gen. McIntosh is the son of Col. James McIntosh, of Georgia, U. S. army who fell in the Mexican war, and nephew to Maj. Wm. McIntosh, of Savannah, almost an octogenarian, but who recently volunteered to serve with Commodore Tatnall in one of his attacks upon the Federal blockaders!
