The Bible Convention.

--This body composed of delegates from the Bible Societies of most of the Confederate States, met in Augusta. Ga., on the 19th inst. The purpose of the Convention is to organize a Confederate Bible Society. Daniel Ravenel, Esq. of Charleston, S. C. was appointed permanent Chairman; Rev W. C. Johns on and Rev. A. F. Dixon, permanent Secretaries; Rev. J. Y. d and Rev. J. W. Burke, assistant Secretaries; Rev. George Woodbridge and Rev. J Rumple, Vice Presidents.

The opening discourse was delivered by Bishop Pierce.
