Lieut. Thomas Walker, of the Amherst Rangers, was drowned after the battle of Port Republic while attempting to swim the river. The celebrated Yelverton marriage case is now being heard on appeal before the Edinburgh Court of Session. The Bey of Tunis has accepted an invitation to visit Paris in June, and will afterwards go to London to see the exhibition. Dr. A. B. Crook, an old citizen of Greenville S. C., is dead. Adjutant General Cooper, of the Confederate army, is in Charleston.
