The General Telegraphic Convention of the Confederate States, which met in the city of Augusta, Ga., on the 9th instant, after a harmonious session, adjourned to meet again in that city on the 1st of January, 1863.

Prof. M. S. Rewes, well knonwn throughout the South as an accomplished and distinguished musician, died in Charleston, S. C., a few days since.

Mrs. Cornelia Manning Gregg, widow of the late Jas. Gregg, of Columbia, S. C., and mother of Gen. Maxcy Gregg, died in Charleston on the 2d inst.

There were 1,145 arrivals and 649 clearances at the port of Boston during the month of July.
