--The Alta Californian says,

‘ that a number of Germans in San Francisco have contributed $1,000 to procure a testimonial for Sigel. The present is in the shape of an eagle, made from pure California gold. The eagle is surmounted by wreaths of gold leaves, representing laurel, and between each leaf is a diamond. Two garnets represent the eyes of the "proud bird of Jove. The whole, enclosed in a case made of manganite, is to be forwarded immediately to its destination.
