A few days ago we abided to the neglect of the sick and wounded sent from our army to this city we have further learned, from a gentleman of reliability that the nurses and Surgeons sent with the sick and wounded usually occupy a separate cars and over attend to their patients between Staunton and Richmond while soldiers traveling on furlough or otherwise, are allowed to fill their canteens with fresh water as fast as it is put in the cars, and they resume those for where it is specially intended from enjoying the benefit of it." It should be, if it is not, the duty of the nurses to procure supplies of water themselves as well as to see that it is property amongst the patients, and the Surgeons to charge are the proper persons to see that this only is performed.
