From Washington, N. C.

We have news from Washington, N. C., as late as Wednesday, Gen. Hill has the town perfectly surrounded, that two transports, or gunboats, had been destroyed by our forces. The steamer Louisiana had not been disabled. She was still at Washington, unable to get down the river. On Tuesday the enemy attempted to reinforce Washington from Newborn, when a fight took place somewhere between Swift creek and Chocowinity cross roads, and the enemy driven back. Picket skirmishing is continually taking place.
