Biography of General Jackson.

It has been already announced in a daily paper of this city, upon the best authority, that a biography of the late Lieutenant General Jackson will be prepared and published at the earliest practicable date for the benefit of his family. It will be prepared by a gentleman of ability, selected by the family. This gentleman we understand to be the Rev. Dr. Danney, who enjoyed the confidence of the deceased when living. He is supplied with complete and authentic materials for the purpose.

Of course such a work will be looked for with interest. It will come to the public with the best assurance as to its authenticity and accuracy, and, its publication being for the benefit of the family of that man whose services to the cause had laid the whole nation under obligations that never could be discharged, it must appeal alike to our confidence and our gratitude.
