--The editor of the Scranton (Penn.) Republican says:

‘ We saw a curious embellishment the other day — a five dollar bill on the Pottsville Bank, which contains in one corner a vignette of James Buchanan. Some person had bunged his eyes with led ink, drawn a gallows above his head, from which a rope was suspended that went round his neck, and then branded his forehead with the word "Judas." This is but one of hundreds. The bank has had to call in all its issue with that portrait on it, so unmistakable are the manifestations of popular indignation against the man who might, had he the will or the pluck, have nipped the rebellion in the bud, as Jackson did before him.
