The Quarterly Conference of the
Lancaster Circuit of the
M. E. Church and the
Quarterly Conference of the
M. P. Church during the present and past year have been in the habit of interchanging fraternal messengers to promote Christian intercourse between the members of two Churches, having in view the permanent union of the two Churches upon principles satisfactory to each.
The memorial brings the subject before the Conference for such action as they may deem proper.
A resolution, having in view the above, object, was also presented from the
Quarterly Conference of the
Westmoreland Circuit, uniting with the
Lancaster Circuit.
On motion of

Lord's Supper, was amended so as to read--
Resolved, That the attention of the Conference be seriously called to the observance of the fasting and prayer prescribed by the Discipline as preliminary to the reception of preachers, and that the
Committee on Religious Worship be required to make arrangements for the administration of the sacrament of the
Lord's Supper at some suitable time during each session of the Conference, to be followed, as the occasion may allow, by the narration of religious experience and the usual exercises of a love feast.
Dr. Smith presented a report from the
Committee of the Chaplains of the Army, (read by
