East Tennessee.

Yesterday a report was prevalent on the streets that the Government had received information that the siege of Knoxville had been abandoned by Gen. Longstreet, and that officer and his command were falling back in the direction of Bristol. Our inquiries failed to satisfy us of the reception of any such intelligence at the Department; but Northern papers received last night state that our forces have withdrawn from Knoxville.
