Rumored Excitement in the North.

It was currently reported yesterday that a latter Northern paper had been received in the city, containing the news that gold had advanced to two hundred in New York, and that Lincoln had called for two hundred thousand volunteers to reinforce Grant. We made diligent efforts to trace this report to its source, but without success. It seemed, however, to be generally believed.
