Mutual Press Association.
We invite the attention of newspaper publishers throughout the
Confederacy to the prospectus of the "Mutual Press Association," which appears in our columns this morning.
The infliction of worthless and unreliable telegrams, at a heavy expense, was borne until forbearance ceased to be a virtue, when four of the Richmond papers withdrew from the old association and set on foot an enterprise which promises the best results.
The proprietor of any journal in the
Confederacy may become a member of the new association by contributing five dollars per month in advance to the treasury, and forwarding to the
general agent all important news from his locality.
Thus, by making each member a news reporter, nothing but reliable news will be forwarded, and the publication of worthless trash avoided.
