Subject Description: A female figure, probably representing Ornithe, stands in a frontal pose, with both legs together, and her arms by her sides. She wears a medium-sleeved, belted chiton, with a long overfold. Tight folds of the skirt crowd in the center front and center back. Some of the folds on the front are pulled aside by Ornithe, who grasps them with her right hand, and thus pulls them slightly to the right. Her long hair is differentiated by horizontal and stronger vertical grooves into beaded tresses, which terminate in triangular forms. 20 locks of hair fall down the back while four fall down each side of the chest.

Condition: Nearly complete

Condition Description: Statue with plinth, originally set into a large base with five other statues, missing the head, feet and most of the plinth.

Material Description: Whitish-gray, coarse-grained marble

Inscription: On a vertical fold of the drapery beneath the right hand: *O*R*N*I*Q*H, "Ornithe." (The name "Ornithe" happens to mean "little bird.")
