Decoration Description:

Interior: nude athlete. A naked youth runs to the right, legs wide. He swings a diskos behind him with his right hand; the diskos is just visible behind his right elbow. His left arm is extended in front of him for balance, his hand open-palmed. There is a pair of jumping weights on the ground between his legs. The edge of a couch or stool occupies the far left edge of the tondo, a folded cloak resting on its cushion.

Shape Description:

A small, delicate type B kylix.

Collection History:

The kylix was originally part of the Coleman Collection. It was later purchased and given to the University Museum by Mrs. Phoebe A. Hearst.
