--Frank Gwinn, for nearly seven years past postmaster of New Albany, Ind, died in that city on the 6th inst., at the age of thirty-one.
When only sixteen, he went to the Mexican war, where he was attached to the person of Gen. Joe Lane, and, though but a child as it were, forgot gallantly at Buena Vista.
Too young to be regularly enlisted, he was not entitled to a land warrant for his services, but, upon the representations of his old commander, a special law was passed by Congress granting him the usual warrant.
