riet, slaves of James M. Talbott, and Richard, slave of Mary Redmond, were charged with felony; but the witnesses not appearing, the case was continued until Thursday. Ellick, slave of Perry Pennybacker, charged with stealing a lot of unfinished shoe work and a half-side of calfskin, valued at $300, the property of J. F. Lowry, was discharged. The same disposition was made of the case of Rachel, slave of Rial Palmer, charged with stealing a gold watch and chain, valued at five hundred dollars, and seven hundred and twenty dollars in gold and silver coin, the property of Eliza C. Williams. Edmund Hudson, charged with being drunk and disorderly in the house of William Curtis, and threatening to whip Mrs. Curtis, was fined ten dollars. Allen, slave of Alfred Holliday, was committed for going at large. Adam, slave of John Friend, charged with having a bag of corn in his possession supposed to have been stolen, proved his title to the articles and was discharged.
