One of the Reserves killed. --On Tuesday morning, Mr. J. H. Bechtel, a clerk in the Adjutant-General's office, was shot by a Yankee sharpshooter on the farm of Mr. James M. Taylor, near this city, and instantly killed. He was highly esteemed by a large number of acquaintances in this city, where he has resided for a number of years. Mr. Bechtel was for four years a clerk in the store of Mr. A. Morris, bookseller, on Main street, and afterwards, previous to the war, carried on business f esteemed by a large number of acquaintances in this city, where he has resided for a number of years. Mr. Bechtel was for four years a clerk in the store of Mr. A. Morris, bookseller, on Main street, and afterwards, previous to the war, carried on business for himself. He was attached to Henley's battalion, now in the trenches below the city, but on the day of the sad occurrence it is said that he ventured beyond where there was any necessity for him to go, and by that means lost his life.
