The Fiftieth was another of the commands that served in the army of Northern Virginia, sharing in its splendid career of victory, almost unbroken until Gettysburg, and then renewed during the spring and summer of 1864, participating in the long siege of Richmond and Petersburg and the final scene at Appomattox.
