Acquitted. --Bryant Cronin again appeared before the Mayor yesterday to answer the charge of stealing $266.50 from John Boucher. The latter admitted that he was considerably intoxicated at the time of the alleged Robbery, and was unable to give any lucid account of the affair. It is well known that when a man is on a bender, money and other valuable frequently disappear in the most mysterious manner, and the mere fact that he was, for a short time, in company with an individual, who, it is stated, bears a good reputation, is rather slender evidence on which to back a conviction. The Mayor, therefore, discharged the accused from custody.
