Captain A. B. Brown Captain A. B. Brown, of Greenville, a native of Virginia, but for the past twenty years a citizen of South Carolina, made a gallant record as a Confederate soldier in the army of Northern Virginia. He was born in King William county, Va., June 23, 1841. His father was Archie Brown, a soldier in the war of 1812, and son of Harry Brown, a soldier of the Revolution. His mother was Elizabeth E., daughter of Hon. Carver Willis, former State senator in Virginia, and son of Carver Willis, a native of England who settled in Virginia, and was massacred by Indians, his wife, oldest son and infant child also falling victims to the treacherous foe.
