The sick in Charlottesville — the Supplies. Hospital Charlottesville, Sept. 8. To the Editors of the Dispatch:
--The Delavan House will in future be the principal Hospital of this place.
Preparations are now making for the accommodation of a large number of patients.
This, as all must testify who have visited it, is a model Hospital.
Too much praise cannot be awarded to the Matron and her assistants, and, indeed, all connected with it. Surgeons Allen, Brown and Curtis, rank among the first of their profession, and, with their assistants, are deservedly popular with the soldiers, as they are enticing in their attentions to their patients.
They not only prescribe for, but nurse them like brothers.
Private contributions have been limited, save from Lexington and Rockbridge county, which have and continue to contribute most liberally.
There are truly a noble people, and have not only opened their hands, but their hearts, as indicated by sending us our most efficient Matter
