Robbery by a slave.
--Henry, slave of Dr. Watt Tyler, was carried before the Mayor yesterday, charged with having stolen a trunk containing $25 worth of clothing and $200 in money from Persons Walker, a member of the Richmond Hussars, Cobb's Legion.
The robbery was effected on Sunday night, and Walker and his companions having arrived at that time on the cars, gave their baggage to Henry, to deliver at the "Johnson House," which he did; but, while their backs were turned after getting there, he put the trunk back in his wagon, and drove off. By considerable exertion his den was traced out at an early hour yesterday morning.
The trunk, when found, had been broken open, and a portion of the contents, including the pocket-book containing the $200. A companion of Henry testified that he saw him break open the trunk after bringing it home.
Henry appeared in court with one of Mr. W.'s shirts on. Mr. W. stated that the loss of the money rendered him penniless.
