The Grays --Company "A," First Regiment--held their annual meeting on Tuesday night, for the purpose of electing non-commissioned officers and transacting other business. Walke, of this city, of $46, "for the benefit of the Hampton sufferers who are known to be in actual want" The burial of the remains of the late Joseph James, who was murdered at Weldon on Friday, took place at Portsmouth on Sunday. James, it seems, was murdered through mistake, the assailent supposing the de ssed to be another person. The wound was inflicted with a sharp knife, and it is said that the head of the murdered man was nearly severed from his body. The Grays, of your city, have presented a fine gold watch to Lieut. J. V. Crawford, an esteemed officer of that efficient corps. Cyrus Bosssieux, 4th Sergeant of the Richmond Grays, who has been elected Captain of a volunteer company in your city, is deservedly esteemed here as a gentleman and an experienced and active officer, and it is believed that an excellent selection has been made.

Richmond Grays. --It is understood that the members of this well known company have recently held an election at their camp, near Norfolk, and chosen as Captain, J. V. Crawford, First Lieutenant, E. W. Branch, Second Lieutenant, J. E. Tyler; Junior Second Lieutenant, R. A. Mayo. Captain Elliott and Lieutenant B declined a re-election. The Grays have been in service since the 19th of April, 1861, being amongst the first companies sent to Norfolk about the time of the capture of the Gosport Navy Yard.
