tes Government, for the sick and wounded volunteer soldiers from Mississippi, on motion of Rev. C. K. Marshall, Major Henry Vaughan, of Yazoo county, was called to the chair, and Rufus R. Rhodes, of Jackson county, appointed Secretary. The Chairman having explained the objects of the meeting, on the suggestion of Col. Jos. R. Davis, Mr. Marshall submitted his views as to the best mode in which those objects could be accomplished. Concluding, Mr. Marshall submitted a written plan from Dr. Fenner, of Louisiana, for the establishment of a Central Bureau at Richmond, for receiving and distributing contributions for the relief and comfort of the Louisiana volunteers, which he recommended to the consideration of the meeting.
