a memorial from citizens of Botetourt praying that the distillation of grain be prohibited. He moved the reference of the petition to a special committee of seven, with instructions to report a bill at an early day. Messrs. Bass, Woodson, Fleming, Anderson, of Botetourt, earnestly advocated the resolution. The resolution was adopted, and the Speaker appointed the following special committee: Messrs.
