1843. Arthur Buckminster Fuller. Chaplain 16th Mass. Vols. (Infantry), August 1, 1861; discharged, on resignation,e images of that happy group:— I first knew Arthur Buckminster Fuller as a little boy. Being a distant relative, I was rene, gentle, kind, a comfort and joy to all. Arthur Buckminster Fuller was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, August 10th, 1822; the son of Timothy and Margaret (Crane) Fuller. His maternal grandfather, Major Peter Crane of Canton, served in thr narrative describes his speech as follows:— Rev. Arthur B. Fuller protested against any further compromise with slavemarking, that From the 1st day of August, 1861, Arthur B. s burned. Did ever one hear such glorious news? The mail leaves this noon, and I have but time to assure you of my continued well-being. I am now the wonder of the regiment for health and strength. This was his last letter home. In September a letter received from Colonel Wilson of his regiment thus announced his death:— He fell in a battle in which we were engaged with the Sioux Indians, at a place called White Stone Hill. The battle occurred on the 3d of this month. Fuller intelligence was afterwards received. Major Ten Broeck writes:— It was in the first of the month of August that we commenced our march up from Fort Pierre. I was with your son every day, and he was happy and cheerful. He was away on several scouts, —one, only a few days before the fight. Abraham Wilhams, of Sandwich. the third son of Hon. Timothy Fuller, was born August 10, 1822. He was early instructed by his father and his sister, Margaret Fuller. At the age of twelve, he spent t. She was among the first who formed the Lee Street Church and Society, in Cambridge; nor can her efforts in its behalf be soon forgotten. When her son, Rev. Arthur B. Fuller, was settled in Manchester, N. H., she was, with him, actively devoted to the interests of his society, and tenderly loved by all its members. When he lef
