— Nomination for the Legislature, &c. Charlottesville, Va. Dec. 3 --A0t a large assemblage of men of all parties, held here today. (Court day,) resolutions were unanimously and enthusiastically adopted, against coercion in any event; in favor of the equality of the States above the Federal Union; against the agitation of slavery; demanding a final settlement now of all difficulties, or a dissolution of the Union; believing a State Convention absolutely necessary; against the reopening of the African slave trade; calling for a full deliberation among the people of all the States, a conference of all the Southern States recommended, and separate action deprived; also, favoring a National Convention. The resolutions were sustained in able speeches by the leaders of all parties, among the most prominent of whom were Messrs. Massie, Southard, Randolph, Leake, Wood, Gordon, and Watson. Thomas Wood, a States-Rights Whig, was unanimously nominated for the Legislature.

Correspondence of the Richmond Dispatch.Military enthusiasm in Greenbrier. Lewisburg, Greenbrier Co., Va., May 10th, 1861. Our troop of Cavalry has been increased to about seventy-five men. They drill daily. Capt. Gordon, lately complimented by the receipt of a Colonelcy of Volunteers, I believe, has been to Richmond, earnestly endeavoring to obtain arms and service for his men. They are to be gratified, it is understood, and hence they hold themselves ready to start at an hour's notice. The new Rifle company, organized yesterday, now awaits equipments and arms. They desire active service. A Home Guard is being organized. Troops have been drilling day and night for many days, to secure the greatest efficiency in time for the call of the Governor. Messrs. Price, Caperton, et als., addressed the citizens of the county, assembled enmasse at the Court-House on yesterday. They strongly urged sustaining Virginia in her late action. Miscellaneous. --Capt. Z. S. Magruder's company, the Henrico Light Dragoons, left Petersburg at 3 P. M. yesterday, for Garysburg, N. C. The balance of Wise's cavalry have orders to follow them. The police arrested Jos. W. Joiner, a soldier, yesterday, for firing a ball through the window glass of E. D. Eacho's office, and one through the window of Jno. N. Gordon's store, on 14th street. Brook Dunnavant, a soldier, was arrested for riotous conduct and abusing the officer of police, near the corner of 12th street, yesterday. About one o'clock yesterday morning, a soldier named Holmes, belonging to an Alabama regiment, beat a brother soldier very badly with a club. Parties who saw the transaction took the offender before General Winder, who turned him over to the civil authorities, by whom he was ordered to the county jail.
