--Officers Baptist and Adams arrested yesterday afternoon a negro woman, named Margaret Johnson, charged with stealing a lot of bedding and bed-clothes and some crockery were Margaret claims to be free, but could not produce the papers vouching for her assertion.
James Kirphey, a drunken and disorderly persons, was arrested by officer Granger, whereupon he made stout resistance, and for a time was in a fair way of coming off victor; but, through the assistance of other persons, he was eventually locked up in the lower station-house.
The above cases will be disposed of by the Recorder this morning.
