Ladd, Horatio Oliver 1839- Clergyman; born in Hallowell, Me., Aug. 31, 1839; graduated at Bowdoin College in 1859, and at Yale Theological School in 1863. He established the University of New Mexico in 1881; was its president till 1899; and was a Congregational clergyman till 1891, when he entered the Protestant Episcopal Church. His publications include The War with Mexico; The story of New Mexico; Ramona days, etc.
