Admitted a citizen.
--Mr. John Lindsey, the well-known butcher, who is a native of "Merrie England," and who has been a resident of this city for 27 years past, was yesterday admitted a citizen of the sovereign State of Virginia by the Hustings Court, Judge Lyons presiding.
He is the first gentleman who has been "naturalized" before the above Court since the passage of the Secession Ordinance.
Since Mr. Lindsey's arrival in Virginia he has certainly afforded about as many indubitable evio has been a resident of this city for 27 years past, was yesterday admitted a citizen of the sovereign State of Virginia by the Hustings Court, Judge Lyons presiding.

The late shooting case.
--Henry Cooper, who shot John Lindsey in the Dime Saloon on Wednesday morning, was carried before the Mayor yesterday.
Several witnesses were examined.
One of them, Mr. Harrison, of Arkansas, testified that Mr. L. was choking Cooper when he fired; another, Mr. Hayward, testified that he did not see rds, Texas Battalion, to which accused is attached, said that he had been informed by Dr. Peachy and another physician that there was an entire probability that Mr. Lindsey would soon recover from the effects of the wound.

From the favorable representations made of the condition of Mr. Lindsey, the Mayor was induced to think it possible he might be able to attend the examination if postponed till to-morrow.
It was accordingly laid over till that time.
Dangerously ill.
--It was said yesterday that the condition of Mr. John Lindsey, shot on Wednesday by Henry Cooper, was not so favorable as it had been, and that the weather was decidedly against the chances of his recovery.
Cooper will be before the Mayor again to-day, to be examined for committing the offence.

--Runaway from the subscriber in Henrico county, my servant Smith.
Said negro is about 30 years old, black, polite when spoken to. He has lost part of one ear; was purchased in Richmond last January, and came from Fauquier county.
I will give the above reward for his apprehension and delivery to me, or his confinement in jail so that I get him again. John Lindsey, 1st Market. mh 9--3t*
