urt yesterday: Upon the petition of Thomas J. Goodall, setting forth that he is unlawfully and wrongfully detained in custody by Thomas A. Brander, Captain of the Letcher Artillery, the said petitioner being a mail contractor with the Post Office Department of the Confederate States Government, and therefore exempt by act of Congress, a writ of habeas corpus was awarded him, returnable on the 20th inst. Writs of habeas corpus were also awarded upon the petitions of Wm. Roach and G. A. Lobbs, who represented that they had been taken up as conscripts and carried to Camp Lee, not withstanding they had been regularly examined by a medical board, which declared them exempt from military duty by reason of physical disability, and also, that such exemptions were permanent. M. Kraker, against whom true bills were returned by the Grand Jury on the 22d day of December last, upon two indictments for perjury, entered into recognizance with good security in the sum of $20,000 in eac
