Flag presentation.
--At half-past 5 o'clock yesterday evening the Capitol Square was the scene of a flag presentation.
The Hon. C. G. Memminger, Secretary of the Treasury, on behalf of the ladies of the Treasury Note Bureau, presented to the Departmental Battalion a rich and handsome Confederate flag.
Mr. Memminger on the occasion delivered a neat speech of fifteen minutes length.
Col McAnerny, commandant of the battalion, received the flag and responded in brief but appropriate terms.
A large number of ladies, soldiers, and citizens witnessed the ceremonies.
The armory band was in attendance and discoursed most excellent music at proper intervals.
