From Knoxville, Tennessee.[special correspondence of the Dispatch.] Knoxville, Tenn., June 3, 1861. The First Regiment of East Tennessee Volunteers left this place at 10 o'clock, A. M., on yesterday. The superior officers are Colonel John C. Vaughn, Lieu tenant Colonel John J. Reese, and Major George W. Morgan. Colonel Vaughn was in the Mexican war, and is a man of tried and unquestioned daring and bravery. When Senator, now President Davis, was returning from Washington, in February, he was denounced at a hotel in Chattanooga as a traitor. Vaughn happened to be present, and instantly took sides, with a few others, in support and defence of Davis, although most of the crowd was against him. A great revolution in sentiment has since taken place in Chattanooga, which is now strong for the South. Colonel Vaughn also went to Charleston in anticipation of a fight there, and arrived in time to witness the bombardment and fall of Fort Sumter. When volunteers were calle
