Eagle captured by a dog. --A few days since, as a lad was engaged in fishing at the pond of Col. H. D. Leitner, at Berzelia, he was startled by the appearance of a large eagle, who struck at and caught a large trout in the pond, who being too heavy for him to rise with, he succeeded in getting the fish to the shore. The lad whistled for a large Newfoundland dog named "Plumb," who immediately sprang upon the eagle, when a warm contest ensued as to the ownership of the trout. The dog waxing warm, pinned his antagonist to the ground, when a negro man came up and caught the eagle. It measures over five feet from tip to tip of the wings, and is now at the residence of Col. Leitner.--Augusta Dispatch.
