--On Saturday and yesterday there were very few persons deposited in the cage.
The only case worthy of notice was that of Trenton Ruffin, who is charged with stealing a pair of women's gaiters from John C. Page.

--Trenton Ruffin, arrested on Saturday afternoon last for stealing a pair of shoes from John C. Page, came before the Mayor yesterday, and after a hearing was remained for indictment.
The prisoner, it seems, entered the store under the pretext of wishing to buy shoes, and took that occasion to appropriate a pair to his own use, without even inquiring the price.
Some short time after the theft one of the clerks found Ruffin in the act of offering the shoes for sale, and
