A sad affair. --We are pained to learn that John Shelton, some eight miles east of this place, on Saturdabout as follows: Robinson and his wife and Mrs. Shelton were visiting a neighbor on Saturday, and SheltoShelton was out squirrel-hunting. Upon the return of the parties to their homes--Mrs. Robinson riding, and Robinson and Mrs. Shelton walking — coming to a field around which the road ran, Mrs. R. kept the road, her husband andld.--It appears, from the information we have, that Shelton was but a short distance behind them, returning homand saw Robinson attempting to violate her person.
