We have known Powhatan from childhood. We have always esteemed her the Cockade county, as Petersburg is the Cockade city. The high- spirited, warm-hearted race that form the body of her population will not let her lag behind in the race of patriotism.--We depend on her. We shall certainly have the hospital. By the way, we hear it said that Mr. Robert Skipwith, of Goochland, designs establishing a hospital at the Parsonage in that county, the promises either belonging to him or being in some way at his disposal. We bid him God speed in the noble work; and, while the people of glorious old Goochland are thus earning a title to the everlasting gratitude of their country, why not convert old Beaver Dam Church into a hospital? It was used for that purpose in the revolutionary war.
