Bogus gold Mines in Indiana. --The Indianapolis Journal says that there was quite a gold excitement in Kokomo, and a number of people went up there looking for gold bearing quartz while wonderful stories of the wealth of a certain stone quarry were circulated. The "nut" to the story is, that a follow engaged at work in the quarry stole a piece of California quartz from a neighbor's house, and asserted that he had found it in the quarry, The piece of quartz was what was analyzed in this city and found to be gold-bearing. The Peru Railroad Company profited considerably by an increase in the amount of passenger fare between Indianapolis and Kokomo.
