Capture of a Yankee Skipper and her crew. --Among the passengers arriving yesterday via the Central Railroad, were Capt. J. Smith, Master of the Federal schooner Fanny Elmore, his mate, and five seamen, all of whom were captured at Cedar Point, on the Potomac, on the 7th inst., by a band of partisan rangers. The latter happened to be at the place alluded to, "waiting for something to turn up, " when the Fanny Elmore, unconscious of danger, drifted within range of their rifles, when her crew were informed of what they might expect if they did not surrender. They made a virtue of necessity. The schooner was loaded with hay intended for the Yankees. --That, together with the vessel, was burnt.--The Captain and his men will be sent home at an early day.
