A correspondent makes various suggestions in regard to procuring an ample supply of salt for the use of the Confederate States, all of which have been frequently presented to the public exceptions, which is that an agent be sent to Matamoras, Mexico, to procure and send it over the Rio Grande to Brownsville. By the same plan, he thinks, leather and coffee could be obtained.
