E. K. Lockwood, charged with retailing ardent spirits without license, a nolle prosequi was entered, he paying the costs. The case of Lizzie Winn, charged with keeping an ill-governed and disorderly house on Mayo street, where persons assemble for purposes of lewdness, &c., was continued till to-day on account of the absence of witnesses, and a rule was awarded against each of the absent witnesses to show cause why they should not be attached for contempt of court. The case of Joseph Vernon, charged with assaulting and beating a boy, was continued till to-day for a like reason, and an attachment was awarded against each of the contumacious witnesses.
