The Louisville Journal says: It would be no wonder if the spirit of rebellion were to burn fiercely in our city, considering how many petticoats it is fanned with. The Catholic clergy of New Orleans have sent word to Gen. Beauregard that the bells of every Catholic Church in New Orleans are at his disposal, to be re-cast into cannon. The Presbyterian congregation of Staunton, Va, have donated their bell, weighing about 400 pounds, to the Government, in response to Gen. Beauregard's request. Wm. Quesenberry, for many years a citizen of Fredericksburg, Va, died on the 14th of March. Brigadier General S. G. French has been assigned to the command of the district of Cape Fear, N. C. The ladies of Lynchburg, Va., are organizing a Gun boat Association. Captain R. Dindsay Walker has been promoted to the rank of Major of Artillery.
