no preference was expressed, though it seems to be the general impression that Mr. Kindred, of Southampton, will receive the nomination, Mr. Chambliss having declined on account of physical inability. A determined effort will be made to defeat General Millson, who has already inaugurated a vigorous campaign, and will, it is said, thoroughly canvass the district.--He addressed the citizens of Nansemond yesterday at their Court- House in Suffolk. Our representative in the Convention, Mr. Whitfield, availed himself of the opportunity to address his constituents on our last Court day. Many of his most active sympathizers and supporters are growing dissatisfied with the temporizing policy which he is understood to sustain. The citizens of the gallant little village of Carrsville purpose elevating a secession pole and flag to morrow.
