Camp Ashland, June 24, 1861. At a meeting of Lunenburg Troop at Camp Ashland on the evening of the 24th day of June, 1861, Captain Wm. H. Hatchett was called to the Chair, and O. M. Smith appointed Secretary. Dr. Wm. Pasmore then arose, and in a few appropriate and touching remarks explained the object of the meeting and moved that a committee be appointed to draft a preamble and resolutions expressive of our feelings with regard to the death of our esteemed brother Trooper, Jno. A. Winn. The Chair then appointed Dr. Wm. Pasmore, O. M. Smith and Waddy Street a committee, who in a few minutes returned and reported the following preamble and resolutions, which were unanimously adopted: Whereas, it has pleased an all-just and wise Being to remove by death from our ranks John A. Winn, an honored and esteemed member of the Lunenburg Troop, who so patriotically responded to the call of Virginia in this her hour of trial, who was stricken down on his way to this place, and
