Preferring death to New Jersey. --One terrible stormy night, in bleak December, a United States vessel was wrecked off the coast of Jersey, and every soul, save one, went down with the doomed craft. This one survivor, a western gentleman, seized a floating spar, and was washed toward the shore, while innumerable kind hearted tools of the Camden and Amboy Railroad stood clustered on the beach with ropes and boats.
