Meeting at the Mechanics' Institute. --A large number of citizens assembled at the Mechanics' Institute on Saturday night, to hear an address from Rev. Wm. A. Smith, D. D., President of Randolph Macon College, on "The relations of capital to labor, and of slavery to the working men and non-slaveholders, as called forth by thy. This position was fortified by unanswerable arguments, remarkable for their clearness and perspicuity. Many considerations of a like nature were advanced by Dr. Smith, sufficient to make any man of candid mind pause and reflect upon the importance of clinging to Southern rights.
